Question Do i need a TC

currant mods are pacesetter LT headers,Off Road Y pipe(no cats),magnaflow catback,slp subframe connectors,BMR LCA's,BMR front strut tower bar,whisper lid,smooth bellow,LS6 intake mani,NGK TR55 plugs,autolight wires,3.73 gears(its an auto)thunder racing performance cover for the 10 bolt rearend,diablo sport tune...

by the end of the month i will have put in
comp cam 224/224 - .581/.581 - 112LSA
Chromoly push rods (stock lengh)
Comp 918 valve springs
Rollmaster Double roller timeing set
LS6 oil pump
and the crank bolt and some gaskets also have new wheels and tires

and tuned with HP tuners

my car is a daily driver and only sees the track like 3 times a year...i was wondering if a new TC is a must or if the stocker will handle it.
thanks for looking Mike

I got my stall before full bolt ons and would recommend it as a firt mod, next to exhaust that is. Get one and I guarantee you'll be kicking yourself for not doing it sooner, just make sure its at least 3000 or more.

A converter will wake up that combo big time. I'd go w/ a 4000 stall, but thats just me. 4000 is very streetable, it all depends on your preference and how much potential you want to unleash.

You can get away with out it if you have a good tune. That being said, you need it because you have an A4 . I think no A4 should be without stall, first mod you should do.

Here's your answer from a guy that has an even bigger cam on the stock stall. You will be just fine with the stock stall as long as you tune it well.....everything pertaining to driveability is in the tune!!

With that said, should you get a converter as soon as you can afford it?.......you bet your *** you should. I can't wait to toss my A4 for a t56.....that's the only reason I don't have a 3500-3800 stall.

you will make power higher in the rpm range. you need a higher stall converter to get you into the power band faster
