My 2001 WS6 is almost stock, except for trans. tuning using EFILive.
I firm up the shift pressures, reduce the shift times, reduce the shift torque reduction;
At very light throttle it shifts nice and lite and quick, as I intended;
At 40+% throttle it shifts with firm feel and nice loud tire bark;
Rolling 25 MPH WOT downshift to 1st spins tires alot across the intersection
(ha, ha, scares the wits out of the ricer trying to fly past me from behind at 55+ MPH).
People who ride in my WS6 are impressed at how it shifts.

I respond with "no, its a Z28" her: " oh, haha ok then".............stupid girls

as most people when i see an aout i think thats its slower in most cars. after i got my m6 and read a bunch on ls1tech and learned what a stall was.
but im 19 and i like to shift my car.
maby the next car would be auto.
not to many people understand what can be done to autos

i have an auto but if properly setup and driven a stick car should/will always be faster.... they dont drag as much HP as a auto... plus racing manual transmissions have the upper edge as they can adjust the clutch, this is a big advantage on a slippery track...
but an auto is more consistent and not as hard to drive.... which in turn usually wins races.. consistency is the key in my book.

you guys do realize that the quickest/fastest accelerating wheel'd vehicles in the world have a clutch right? i myself have a th400/5800rpm stall but was just making the point that the clutch is quickest...Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock, Alcahol Funny Car, Alcahol Dragster, and some ProMods all use clutches although Alcahol Funny Car is allowing a lenco with a torque converter now but there's only about 3 guys i've seen running them and they aren't near competitive yet since noone has a good converter out for them yet.

I don't see too many manuals in that top 20 list.

Sooo....because funny cars and dragsters use clutches...some how we're to believe that street cars must physically shift a stick? For someone, other than a pro driver to coose to physically shift his trans instead of allowing a computer to do it many times faster, is just plain simple backwoods thinking, IMO, unless the driver just prefers the fun of shifting instead of the fun of winning. In that case, you might as well get off this much too fast computer and start mailing your posts in, the OLD fashioned way.

the point is that for the ultimate in holding power and tunability a clutched transmission of whatever kind is optimal. and i do believe that one of the fastest of the LSX crowd both have clutched transmissons. (Casper and the Hardcore GTO) for a STREET car a T56 setup would be my choice, but as in my case for a track car (which may see limited street time) an auto/stall setup is more optimal for me.
