converters?

converters? im looking into a new tq and what to know what the best daily driver stall would be. also what exactly do these things do to make your car hit harder do you need to keep the brake on and put it up to say 2500 on a 2500 stall then let off the brake. i dont know much about these so i also want to know about how much a performance shop would charge to install it. thanks
I don't mean to be a jerk, but this question has been asked to death lately. Look at some of the other threads in this forum and read a little about what stall would be best.

Don't go below 3k absolute minimum. If you like to go fast don't go lower than 3500.
