how much fluid in a 4l60E?

how much fluid in a 4l60E? i took the pan off and changed the filter, when i put it back in the car i put 4 quarts in trans. and 1 quart in the converter. now when i put it in gear its like it doesnt wanna go i gotta get on the gas pretty good so it'll start moving. does it just need more fluid? it did sit for almost a year before i put it back in.
also whenever i put it in gear a little fluid comes out the front on the ground?

i checked the dipstick and nothing was on it so i added a quart and it goes into gear fine, a little hesitation when going from drive to reverse. now when i put it in park it starts to leak right under the converter? a good size puddle too.

It'll take 10-12 quarts total. It doesn't wanna move b/c there isn't enough fluid so the converter is slipping real bad. As you add more it'll get better. Throw in a few more and then drive it. Keep adding a quart at a time untill it doesn't slip anymore.
