Hey man, here is one vote for a new transmission rather than a rebuild. I just got a Gearstar 4L65E transmission and it is AWESOME. I cant wait to take it to the track this weekend. My speedshop said it was the nicest transmission they had ever seen.

Just a thought... I have a 3 year warranty with mine

napa sell a standard rebuild kit that will contain everything you need, so long as you have no broke hard parts. The kit ususally runs $175. There actually is alot of stuff in that kit that you really don't need I.E many seals that shouldn't be replaced unless you just absolutly want to. ATSG sells an outstanding rebuild manual also if you aren't too familiar with 4l60's or 700r4's.

Theres more to rebuilding a transmission than just parts a great majority of building a transmission is proper precision assembly.
