Default To get a shift kit or not to get a shift kit.... that is the question

So im going to be ordering a stall here soon, i have decided on a 3500 2.0 Fuddle for my street driving. Car will be driven on the street only. Im ordering the B&M 24k cooler as well and a trans temp gauge. What are the real benefits of the shift kit and should i get one or not? Id really like saving $115 if i dont need one, but if it will help the performance and life of my trans, it will be worth it.

I would get it. With the stall, your shifts will feel sloppy if left stock, a shift kit will firm them up a good bit.

but will it throw more wear and stress on the trans. I get a lot of mixed views on this subject.

Actually it will be better for the trans, the clutches wont slip into gear anymore.

I thought you could change your shift points without a shift kit. Everyone I've talked to that knows transm. tells me to get it done electronically.

The "modified" Trans-Go Performance Shift kit that I use, will give you smooth part throttle shifts (which is easy on the gear train) and quick & firm shifts at WOT (this will keep the band & clutches alive). If the shift kit is done right (matched to the rear end gear ratio, motor, torque converter, & how you drive) it can have long lasting beneficial effects.
