Default how much can the 4L60E handle?

with a TCI3000 stall and 76,000 miles? I am putting on new heads and a 222/228 cam in very soon. I am also flirting with the idea of a little juice. I am expecting to be over 400 before the juice over 500 with. Can this tranny hold that? I have been told that a shift kit will kill that tranny with that many miles on it? Is that true? Any comments would be great!

As soon as I went to 10 pounds of boost and 518 rwhp, mine died within weeks. Some last and some do not.

mine is slipping going into second with 5.3 heads and a 224/224 and all bolt-ons. I just went over 20,000 miles also. So, I think it depends on how rough you are on it. I beat the crap out of mine.... start setting money aside would be my recomendation.

How long did it survive when you were running 9lbs?

After the tranny went down at 10 psi, I had it rebuilt for 750 hp. At the same time I switched to a FMIC and the boost went to 13 psi. I changed the pulley from 3.4 to 3.7 to bring boost down and thats why I am at 9 psi presently. So far so good with the rebuilt tranny.

Ok so the question would be, how long did the tranny hold before it went down the first time. And I know you said weeks but that was when you went to 10psi. Hope my question makes sense.

I am runnin a setup that will be under 500hp/500 torque engine, with factory 1500 stall, so the tranny should hold out, We are still testing it.
