Torque Converter Lockup Switch > is it defeating the purpose?
I'm thinking of ordering a TC manual lock-up switch. What would be the benefits other than to achieve higher dyno numbers? Would it put more power to the wheels at the track or give me a better ET? Probably sounds like a dumb question, but, does it defeat the purpose of having a high stall TC?

It should give you a little more power to the wheels.
We got into an informative discussion about locking a TC up in this thread:

The manual TC lockup switch was a very popular mod for GN's and Cyclone/Typhoon owners. You could try and lock it up and the bottom of third and see if that helps, but I really can't see it helping that much with a bigger stall.

Well, it locks up in 3rd and 4th, but, you punch it and it unlocks. I was wondering if maybe it was manually locked in 3rd (all the way through the rpm range) and then hit 4th hard with it locked in 4th, as well.
I have a FLP 4L65E racelevel 5 tranny, so, it should handle the jolt to 4th. Would I get better mph or ET time at the track like this or am I just wasting time asking about doing this? Any views ... appreciated whether they be positive OR negative. Thanks in advance for taking the time to reply if you reply. If not, then, thanks for reading.
