Default Does High Stall Torque Converter lock?

Couldn't find this in the threads....

I know stock torque converters lock up on highway to give true 1:1 for mileage, how does this work with the aftermarket converters that stall way up high like 3400, does the engine RPM come way down on lockup? What does this feel like when it kicks in, does it seem like a gear upshift, or do these things even lock on the highway like the stockers?

Thanks...

feels like a gear up shift mine happens at 37mph with my yank ss3600, almost all converters for our cars lock up.

Mines the same way, at steady part throttle and 40 MPH feels like another gear when it locks.

The new converter will lock up under the same conditions as the stocker. Unless you modify the PCM. Once the TC is locked and you gently press on the gas, the rpm's will not rise very fast. When it is unlocked, the rpm's will shoot up a lot faster. Lock up will occur in 3rd or 4th gears only.
