Default Stock cam (02') with SY3500 - Keep 3.23 or get 3.73??

I never go to the track and want to be fast out of the hole but especially from a roll. If the 3.23 are faster from a roll than 3.73 I doubt I would want to switch.

I don't care about gas mileage and don't want to consider a small change like 3.42.....

I had the SY3500 with 3.73's, and it was an awesome converter from a roll. The 3.73's will take away a lot of the "loose" feeling of that converter. Mike at Yank highly recommended 3.73's with that converter for me, he said it was a killer combo, and he was right. Even with the 3.73's, the SY3500 is fairly easy to hook up with on the street. I took down a lot of mustangs from a 15mph roll, it was a beast! My TP4000 is even more of a beast, but it is a lot more challenging to keep it from blazing the tires.

3.73s & SY3500 is the killer street combo, especially if you nittos on the street.

You'll gain some with 3.73s, but 3.23s will actually be easier to launch on the street if you stay on street tires. Swap the 'verter first and see if you still want to do gears.

I've already got the SY3500 installed and love it. I'm getting Nitto's although it only spins the street tires if I brake stall it upon launch - and that's with 1LE coil springs in the rear.

I want to know if the SY3500 w/ 3.73 will beat 3.23 from a roll?

Start at 70 mph and 3.23s will get the jump because it can downshift to 2nd until 84 mph. The only issue I had was that when I switched to 3.73s, the car did not want to downshift to 2nd gear until I dropped to around 50 mph. I've cured this with Edit and like my 3.73s.

I just dropped in my SY3500 w/3.23's yesterday and I love it just as well. I thought it would be a lot more loose. I can mangage the 3.23's. I still just blow the street tires up from a dead stop. Can't wait to see what happens with the nittos.
