Default 350 turbo kickdown cable, does it need to be hooked up?

I'm swapping an LS1 in my Monza and I'm using the 350 Turbo and 3000 stal convertor. Do I have to hook up the kickdown and what are the problems I'd encounter if I left it loose?

Thanks,

Bill

Your lucky the conversions and hybrids forum was moving slowly which is why I ventured in here Anyway it won`t really hurt anything to leave the kickdown cable disconnected, when my kickdown cable on my TH350 broke it just did not want to kick down. I think it would eventually kickdown but I had to be at almost full throttle, the car will not be nearly as fun to drive if it is not connected . 5.3 Racer ground the cruise control arm off his TB rotated it 180 degrees and welded it back on and hooked the kickdown cable to it. Adjusting the kickdown cable is not nearly as critical as with an overdrive trans, it is more for the feel of the trans.

EDIT: I almost forgot, I think it will upshift at lower RPM`s compared to normal.
