Default 4l60e issues

just had my trans built. installed a PI 3800 converter. i had a transgo vaccum module installed, billet servos, high rev springs, all the bells and whistles. well anyways

i was testing the 1-2 shift under spin and next thing i know i heard a loud bang and now grinding and drive is gone have reverse but some noise. put it on lift and it will move rear wheels but not correctly. i can hold it in gear with brakes but speedo moves but nothing esle does and you hear a awful noise

im thinking plantery gears, input shaft or maybe converter

does this sound famliar to anyone who destroyed these trans? truck is about 4500lbs and in the neighborhood of mid 400s to the wheels in HP/TQ. spoke and said the man who built the trans and is known to be a good person and builder said he should stand by his product since it only had less then 100 miles on it.

i would take it back to him, might of had a defective part in it. The trans should have easily held together.

If your rear wheels are not moving but the speedo is that means that the output shaft is turning. I would be looking at the diff. Where does the noise come from?

dropped trans today. first thing i did was drain it and i found metal chunks on the drain plug. also when i pulled the trans i was spining the converter and noticed i felt smooth then a harsh point then smooth then harsh again. along with that i heard a noise in there just spinning it by hand. also noticed before i dropped it i started it up in park and heard the noise also.

if its what you guys are saying whats a way to prevent this?

First you gotta make sure the shaft is broken, then you gotta determine what the cause was ie, to much end play? too short drive shaft, bent drive shaft, ect. There are a host of problems that need to be addressed before you go sticking "billet" shafts in!!! Hope this helps ...Dave
