Default shifting probs?

hey guys, my a4 trans has a hard time shifting out of 2nd when i get on it, it just sits on red line(not rev limiter) pretty much until i let off the gas and it will finally shift. could this be cause of the tune? if not, then what.

also when i am driving around 45-50mph it it starts surging like the T/C is constantly locking and unlocking until the rpms get higher then it will say put. what could this really be.

Sounds like its time for a rebuild. I've heard other guys with the same problem, the trans just can't change gears under a load due to worn out components. If it shifts properly under normal throttle, then it shouldn't have anything to do with tuning, unless its got a bad tune for some reason.

Hmmm...interesting. Well in that case, I'd say it definitely has something to do with the governor/PCM tuning, unless something inside the trans is defective or built wrong.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

yea, i would take it back to the guy that built it but i don't feel like causeing a big scene cause he had the dern thing for 7 weeks. sooo, even if the tranny is the problem, i'm just gonna say screw it and get a th350 and get it over with.

WoW 7 weeks to build a 4l60e. It sounds like he was having some problems. Are you getting any codes?
