Question about Yank PT 4400
would a Yank pro thruster 4400 work well in a 3.42 geared car with a motor that just consisted of exhaust enhancements and the usual free mods?
i am wanting to for a low 12 second N/A car with out having the heads and cam done. kinda for bragging rights to say i did it all on the stock motor.
what do you all think?

Hey man, I don't know if I know you, but maybe you've saw my car around town. I'll let you see how you like the Thruster Pro 4400 when I get it in mine after Yank rebuilds my tranny again.
Yeah that convertor likes 3.42's (or any gear for that matter). I went the best of 11.59@116 on a 1.56 with a yank tp4400 3.42's Stock Internals and a 3350 raceweight.
It will work excellently.. but it will be loose.
I went 11.56 with a bolt on motor and that verter.
It is more for the track than the street.... it is loose. But lordy does it WORK.

I daily drove (45 miles a day) my Formula with TP-4400 and 3.23 and very simular mods for over six months.. it went 12.07 got me to work <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> With the addition of headers went 11.95.

i dont mind a loose convertor. but is it going to be annoying loose, as in is it bad for the tranny? i am going to drive this car nearly everyday. i dont want to lose all my streetability and cook the tranny. the car is going to be my daily driver/race car/street beast. i just want low 12s high 11s on the stock motor and the typical suspension mods.
what do you all think? can i do it?

My son and I just installed a TP4000 about 2 months ago. It's loose, but I'm used to it. The 3:73's help, though.
At the track, ET Streets or better are definitely necessary.
The converter is simply the best mod I've made to my daily driver. Makes the car pull SOOOOOOOO hard it will put a huge smile on your face (my car is 400 miles away in Little Rock, while I'm in a hotel in Atlanta).

what kinda tuning need to be done if any with this convertor for maximum performance? i know some people have had problems with the tourque managment and all....
cool. i figured i could get away with raising the rev limiter, setting my shift points, and deleting the tourqe mgnt. all together. i can get ahold of an LS1 edit to do all this i think.
