Lockup in an A3?
Just curious. Obviously you lose OD when you go to an A3 with a TH350 or TH400 but for a "street car" it wouldnt be too bad if you had lockup in 3rd gear. Who makes a lockup A3 or do you have to just get a lockup converter for your particular trans application and put a switch on it?

There was a TH350C but whether this is, or could be
made any stronger than a 4L60E (or a TH200-4R) is
a question. Probably not much to choose from in the
converter department either, being as it was kind of
"special".

You can get a 400 in LU, or 350C as Jimmy mentioned but I also hear the 350C is pretty weak and parts are very $. 400's different story, lock up is an option and works well. I have a 350 now but looking to go 80E later. I'm still waiting for a 6L80E conversion

I'm sure those aren't cheap, but if it'll lock up on the street and stand up to anything I can throw at it on the track its hard to beat that. Good to know there are options.

Nope.... not cheap. Carl quoted me $1100.00 to upgrade my existing rmvb/braked Rossler TH400. Between the LU upgrade and new converter, I couldn't justify the coin on top of what I already had in it.
Went ahead and bought a brand new TH400 w/the same build to include LU and a LU verter from Mike Senia @ YANK. Sold the Rossler to offset the new unit and called it a day-

I guess I need to call mike. Back in 99 mike and I did a th400 in my previous 99 camaro which oddly enough is the car Im bringing back home as soon as I can sell the c5. The guy I sold it to wanted od back so its got a century 4l60e until I can get her home and rip that thing out. Thanks for your reply.
