What converter did you go with?
What were your times before and after the converter?

If you had 2:73s and switched, what did you switch too?

What are your goals?

Keep the 2.73. If you want a street strip converter I'd recommend the Stealth Thruster 3200. If you are going to run Nitto DR's then I'd get the Super Thruster 3500.

With Nitto's and the ST3500 you should shave .8 off your quarter mile time. Why waste $400 on gears for another .1?

Good luck!

Oh no...I was just taking a poll of sorts.

I have a ST3500 in the car now. I gained 4.5mph and dropped a whole second off with the converter. But, this is with 2:73 gearing. Just seeing what the results would be if I switched to 3:42s.

I just put a ST3500 ver.2 in with a race prepped tranny and still have the 2.73's. My best before was 13.38 @ 105mph with a 2.03 60'. After who knows??? I haven't ran it. <img border="0" alt="[Burnout]" title="" src="graemlins/burnout.gif" />

Well...ya better post some results soon <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_tounge.gif" />

I like my 2:73s, but with the ST3500, the car is a little loose on the street. Like I said, I gained 4.5mph and dropped a whole second with just the converter swap. I'm curious about other peoples results. Also curious if they switched their gears and what they got after that.

The swap to 3.42s will gain you .1 & 1 mph; maybe as much as .15 and 2 mph assuming you fully hook up and don't have to drop your tire pressure to hook up.

Representing 2.73s <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

....now If I could only get it to go as fast as you stock internals guys = <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />
(I'm working on it <img border="0" alt="[devil]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_devil.gif" /> )

I changed too much stuff along with the converter
to give any meaningful "gain" data but the ST4000 is a phucking blast with 2.73s. It would NOT be for your daily driver though <img border="0" alt="[devil]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_devil.gif" />

At one time I was running a vig2800 with 2.73 gears. Stock with lid it ran 8.9@82 1/8 mile and after the converter swap along with nittos it ran an eventual best of 8.03@89.5

There was some weight loss along the way so it cannot all be contributed to the converter but it was a stout combo for what it was.
