Default Vig4000????

well i have the 3200 now, and am looking to go up in stall. this would go through a 4.10 rear/28" e.t. drags. now instead of getting a TP4400 soon, i was thinking of using my free restall to up it to 4000. so what would you think for a bolt on car with the combination? anybody have somethign similar?

matt in IL went 12.0 with that converter and 3.23's. that was like 2 or 3 years ago. with 4.10's it wouldnt be that loose at all.

The converter hits HARD, but it's VERY inefficient! I ran it for a short while in my '98 T/A, and the car was pulling 1.53 60' times with a 3,640# raceweight and 3.42:1 gears. However, I gained 38 RWHP by locking the converter up on the dyno! If you do try it, I'd have them build you a multi-disk 4000 that you can lockup at the track. It will hit HARD with the 4.10's. Behind the 383, the converter was flashing over 5,000 RPM on the launch! You should see a little less if you're running a heads/cam setup. I would still expect a better ET from a PT4400, though.

I ran the PI3600 and it was flashing to around 4300. It was super inefficient and I gained 25rwhp on the dyno when I had a 346ci motor with heads and cam.

Going with that much stall I would recommend the Yank PT4400 over a Vig4000. The PT4400 will pull much harder on the top end and will run better MPH. Not to mention that it rocks off the line as well.
