MY Entire Fuddle Experience (worth reading)
Look. When you bind a clutch to the surface you clean the metal with solvent, spread the adhesive, then subject it to extreme pressure and heat. I have done that on a TCRS machine a thousand times. You know if it is done right.
You can see if the clutch is not properly seated. I don't know why you want to protect stupidity.
Only someone with no ethics would use a bad part in their product. It is not a mistake.
Would you go to work and then do something that half ***? Would you go to work and stack a bunch of parts so poorly that it falls on a co-worker? That is the same kind of regard displayed in this thread.

I have enough sense to check each part before throwing them together and welding it up.
Just because 5 or 6 people on the internet bash me doesn't mean they know anything about converters. Most people that are 'into' cars don't really know anything about them anyways.
How many of the people in this thread have actually touched the inside of a converter before?????
I can't believe people are calling me a moron when they are the ones completely clueless.

So Drew how many high stall converters have you owned in your life?

2nd TCI SSF 3500
3rd Yank SS 4000
4th Fuddle 3400
Depends on what you mean by high stalls?

I never claim to know jack about the insides of a convert, I just want to know why your so Pro Yank and Anti Fuddle?
Yes, Yank is a damn good converter and Dave@Yank is an awsome guy to deal with.
Fuddle aslo makes a good converter for less and Jonh@Fuddle is also an awsome guy to deal with.
That being said, I like my TCI SSF 3500 better than both, but I go the converter through TSP and never delt with TCI direct.
But, I did not get a lot of track time with my Fuddle before our track closed down, so couldn't do a good comparison

Lemme drop the Charlie Hammer of common sense for a second.. So you've worked in production lines before or solely built converters? Yes it makes a difference. I worked in production lines before, after I got out the Army long long ago.. I was near the end of the line when I started, I rec'd the parts, thew them in the cleaner and racked em. Not too hard, but I also was the last set of eyes in a line of 32 workers to see a part and do a physical QC. I caught lots of parts everynight. Sucks when your backed up on output and working overtime to make the next scheduled delivery, sometimes **** (typing that because it literally doesnt meet the standard) passes right by. To my knoweldge I would let an average of 2 parts per night pass my station when I was racking. Think about that, 2 parts out of maybe 1,200 I would have get by me...I stopped at least 20 per half shift. Yes we had a humnagus problem with tooling, and tolerances, not the point. To think that its sheer lazyness or incompetence because a cover was welded on a TC and assuming the welder seen the clutch was messed up is crazy. I am sure after welding (if done by hand) for a couple hours its not too easy to see minor defects. And you, nor I are sure the clutch facing was in the same state during install as it was when the cover was cut off. So, yes, my opinion is you made an ignorant remark based of ASSumption and YOUR experience. Just like post counts dont mean someone knows WTF they are talking about, your experience with welding a cover on TC's doesnt either in this particular incident.
You remind me of the kid that was always posting the 4L60E can be built to take mad power if done correctly yada yada yada...I called him out and said you build it to handle whatever power you want and I will kill it in a matter of days with my daily driver. He never replied! He was a student going thru ASE Cert or something and thought because he heard X,Y & Z in class it was law...well, welcome to the real world.
FWIW, I have owned more high stall converters than I am sure you put together yourself and owned combined. But when it comes to making one, or selecting the right one for a particular combo, I will say I am not an expert by far. I dont throw around my experience with said converters and think thats the only way it could be either. I normally recommend ppl talk to John @ Fuddle or Mike @ Yank and whomever at Vig & TCI to see what they, the professionals that not only do that kind of thing for a living recommend, but the ones that will have the finger pointed at them when **** hits the fan.
Now, on topic, if you ask me, John did go above and beyond his warranty, and has set a pretty high standard for other sponsors to meet.
Todays lesson has been brought to you by me, my thoughts and opinions are mine and your welcome to STFU if you dont like them.
Lastly, the Aladdin **** was ******* ignorant as well. I see some more racist **** like that and someone will have a ******* vacation! Just like 6speed, making generalization is not the wisest thing to do and with the affairs of the world as they are, the **** wont be tolerated.
very respectfully,
Charlie
If you guys want to win thats fine. I don't care. That wasn't what I was aiming for. If PI sells more converters I don't see a dime. Same for any converter company. I am just telling you guys what I know.
I am just calling the BS flag because companies like PI, TCI, any Yank have actual locations. They didn't depend on the internet. Fuddle doesn't have an actual location. All they have is a cellphone number. WEIRD WEIRD WEIRD Has anyone every been to their place of production? hmm? They aren't a legal company. You can't sue Fuddle the company in the court of law. If he picks up and leaves one day you can't do jack ****. See my point? It is all kind of weird. A company doesn't have to stick to a warranty if it doesn't exist.
But whatever, just trying to protect you guys.
As for working the line I understand. Done that before. You let the part slip you could cost 1000's in repair bills to someone you don't know. You trash it you cost the company 100's and get yelled at. I have been yelled at but at least my conscience is clear.

Who's winning?
Thanks for looking out, but your going at it in the wrong way.
Fuddle is building up, they might not have a solid location yet, but if they keep doing what they're doing they will, see my point.
Just chill out and let other enjoy they're Fuddle converters in peace
yeah i don't understand why he is in this thread it would be nice if he would just stay the hell out of all automatic posts with his SIX SPEED!!!!! car. none of the posts apply to him just go away your the only one starting problems.

Actually, in this converter, it looks like what happened is that the clutch material came off, not actually missing when it was built. We have never seen that happen before, and we do not anticipate seeing it happen again. Because we want to take care of the customer, we paid for his swap and other fees.
Our phone number (801)485-2509 is a land line, not a cell phone. If you want my cell phone number, I will be happy to give that to you. We have a shop; it's where we actually build the converters. Our local customers in Utah have been here, but our out of state customers likely have not been here. I've bought stuff from a lot of other sponsors who are in a different state. I haven't been to their shop, but I am not going around accusing them of not having a shop just because I haven't seen it. And though we have never been sued, my attorney says someone can sue us; it's entirely legal.
slvr98z28 - Thanks for the update. Glad everything is working out.
Every man or woman in America has the right to run their business as they wish. If it's out of their garage with no overhead or in a 50,000 sq. ft. facility, it really doesn't matter. LS1Tech doesn't decide which sponsors are worth or unworthy based on photos of their facilities or necessarily the validity or lack of a business license. Yes, it is always a competitive challenge. Especially with the enablement of Internet sales and the associated low overhead. Welcome to competitive business. Learn to deal with it.
As far as Fuddle is concerned and the rest of this thread is concerned, they are a site sponsor in good standing with postiive feedback from their current customers.
Regardless of the fact that some people have issues and Fuddle stands behind their product or not, the pissing match is not productive. LS1Tech is not the place for it. If you have a real claim or vested interest, you are certainly entitled to use LS1Tech to voice your opinion. If you have personal gripes, call him directly. His number is posted. As for the rest of this thread, there's not a lot of valuable conversation around the original topic and I'm considering this closed.
