Kick Down Question
About what speed should my trans kick down to first gear when floored. Does 20 mph sound right or should it be higher.
Thanks

depends on your gearing. for example, i have 2.73's so it'll kick down at 35mph no problem. if i had a 3.23 car and hit it at 35mph, i believe it would downshift into 2nd.
you could do two things:
-give us your gear ratio and we can guess.
or the method i recommend:
-try it yourself for each individual mph - so much more fun

Yes, gear dependent MPH-points but all set by the
part throttle shift tables, which suck from factory.
The stock plan is no kickdown-1 below 10MPH except
WOT 31MPH (3.23s). You can do much, much better
for street / course driving.
