New FLP Level IV in, still having problems..HELP
First of all, let me state that this is not an attack on FLP, Chuck, or anything else. The tranny feals great.
Ok, tranny was just replaced with a FLP Level IV 4L60E. I put a couple of hundred easy miles on it then started hitting it last night. The shifts are lightning fast, but right after the 1-2 shift it slips until I feather the throttle. I'm going to call Chuck on Tuesday to discuss it, but I thought I'd throw it out here to see what everyone thinks.
The 1-2 shift is great, then the bog hits big time. The RPMs are still there, just no power.
This situation was occurring before the tranny swap, only it happened after the 2-3 shift from a roll. Now it happens after the 1-2 shift from a stop, and after the 2-3 shift from a roll. I have a Yank ST3500 converter and I'm beginning to wonder if the converter isn't screwed.
I trust Chuck's work and personally doubt it is a tranny issue. Can anyone chime in here? I'm really not sure what is up as you can tell by this rambling post.

Thanks,
Denzil

Is this a vacuum modulated FLP tranny or is the line pressure electronic? If electronic, make sure your base MAFT setting is giving you slightly negative cruise LTrims. You might also put your stock MAF ends back on.
I doubt it is the converter unless you didn't flush out the crap from when your old tranny died.
Let us know how it goes.

Vacuum Modulated. It arrived a couple of weeks ago, finally got it installed this week.
I'm not sure what it could be besides the converter. It happens after the shift has occurred.

It isn't momentary. I can feel TM. This seems to be something different. Feels like something is slipping. Actually, feels like the engine is not connected to the tranny. Engine is reving, tranny just shifted, gains power for a bit, then it seems like something is kind of "free-wheeling" until I let up on the throttle, then it is fine.
I had the same issue with my FLP Level IV on my 2001. The problem is not with the tranny, the problem is with the TransGo shift kit in the tranny causing abuse mode to kick in on TM. There is a known issue with 2001's and 2002's with TC's and TransGo shift kits. What's happening is the spark retard limit table is set to -10 degrees of timing by default and the hard shift is making the pcm think it's abuse and it holds it at -10 degrees and not let you rev over 4500rpm's until you pedal it.
I have two custom pcm's (2000 and 2001) done by John at www.speartech.com that have the these setting changed to +20 degrees and the problem is gone.
Your problem has nothing to do with the Tranny and can be dealt with through the pcm. 2000 and earlier F-Body's do not have this issue.
I hope this helps. Feel free to e-mail me if you have any further questions.

That sure as hell sounds like the problem. I guess I was underestimating TM. Looks like I'm going to have to wait until LS1edit for 01-02 is out.
You don't need 2001 LS1 Edit. I have a 2000 pcm in my car now with 2000 tuning and it makes 29rwhp more at 5000rpm's than the 2001 pcm does due to the increased timing, although the peak numbers are similar. I also don't get the P0757 2-3 shift solenoid code with this pcm anymore (this can't be fixed with LS1 Edit).
It also sounds exactly like TM to me. It was HORRIBLE on my car before I had Ed Wright tune the PCM. With the TransGo and Vig 3200 that I used to have, the car would fall on its face, particularly on the 2-3 shift, and take forever to get its timing back.
