Get a 400. Places like BMR make everything you will need to bolt it right in.

Th400 for sure, 350's can be built to handle that power, but if you're plannign on making 800 hp on the bottle, then I'd go th400, the larger internal parts will take teh hit of nos better. If you're gonna do it, do it once and don't regret the decision.

Don't even collect when you go past the 350 and get the 400! Do a lot of research, there is a lot of good folks building them for good prices.

Personally I picked up a hughes TH400 with a rmvb and brake... I am confident that it will hold up to what plan to throw at it.

Give eastside a call, they are a hughes dealer and can tell you exactly... I bought it with a converter and a driveshaft, so I don't know exactly. But Sean @ eastside could tell you. Same setup that they had in the black car last year that went 8.90... so I think it's o.k.

You don't really need that yank bellhousing, that's a big gimmick. The regular th400 housing will attach with 5 bolts, that's enough. I know of 8 second ls1 cars that are attached with the 5 bolts thru the standard housing and have no problems.... don't believe everything you read.
