Default problem with rock on tranny

i have a rockon stage 4 4l60e and it has about a 1 second delay on the 2-3 shift. has anyone else had this problem? what could it be? by the way the tranny is vacuum modulated. i don't have any dyno numbers or anything. if i can't figure this out i'm just going to sell it and by a th400.

vac-mod should only affect shift firmness not shift timing i believe, maybe it is a tuning issue? i'm hoping so since my rock-on is sitting in the garage waiting to go in...

well since its manual valve body and vacuum modulated i figured it would be something with the tranny.

Mine is and always has had the same delay as yours. It's on the second rebuild now and no changes to the delay on the 2-3 shift after the rebuild so I just figured this was a characteristic of the vacuum modulated 4l60. I did not have the manual valve body first time around but I do this time. I think a call to Dave @ Rock-On is in order as this delay is sort of a PITA to live with. With the converter I have, I have to push the shifter as soon as the tach starts to come off the shift extension or it'll hit the rev limiter every time.

Default Shifting issue

It's a tuning issue. I believe they are codes 0751 and 0757. It's pretty well documented in this forum. Search for those 2 numbers and it should come up. What's happening is the computer thinks the stock converter is in there and you most likely have 3200+ stall. The computer sees that much slip and won't shift as some sort of safety measure. Research those two numbers and delete the codes from your tune and you should be good to go.

well if the tranny isn't connected to the computer in any way i don't see how it could be related to those codes. i will look into it though. i was thinking about the line pressure thing. maybe i have the vacuum lines setup wrong. i just put a t off of the vacuum on the back of the intake which is what they recommended. i already ordered a th400 from rossler so i'm gonna just put this tranny up for sale. i spent $5000 on it, hopefully i can get half of that for it since it has about 500 miles on it and no track time.
