how can you people like these shifters? I baught a car with one and am going to rip it out and throw it in the river. It is the biggest POS ever. Its like a puzzle everytime someone different gets in to "try" and move it out or in a gear.

I have a manual valve body. So I dont care for the electronics. I broke wayyyyyyy to many t56's and I bought this for a gear selector. We will see how it works out Who knows it might not even work

Im not sure. What I can tell you if the center console is not hard to take out. Pull the e brake all the way up. Take out all the bolts.

arent all the 4l60 valve bodys reverse (manual versions)
something to get used to there. i dont like being in high gear myself.
i prefer to bump it in neutral after a pass.

Yeah I really don't like the rachet shifters either. I put a megashifter in an IROC I had and it looked good but I was the only one who could drive it.
It took me a half hour to teach the guy who bought it how to work the shifter.
I like positive detent shifters like the Pro Stick or Quarter Stick.
Easier to install as well.

allow positive gear shifts without overshifting. the stock shifters require too much finesse to keep from going past a gear.
its really only needed for manual valve bodies, but they look cool otherwise.

Doesnt the computer shift much better than we can? I have heard a lot of people saying to just keep it in drive or overdrive because it is much quicker anyway with no screw ups.

So um... how do you make these shifters work with the 4l60e? Do you have to have that transmission controller? Those are like 600 dollars, that's ridiculous. What other shifter options are there for these trannies? I'm doing a conversion and I'm a little lost on this part of it. Do I just need to go steal a stock shifter out of a f body in a salvage yard?

You just hook up the cable and go to work. Not sure about backup lights, there might be a provision for those. Not sure about your little circuit board there on the gear selector.

According to B&Ms website you have to have an aftermarket controller, you're saying that's bull? I'm sorry but I'm a little confused on this deal. I just got my hands on a Megashifter and I hoped it would work, says it works for 700r4 so I figured can't hurt to try it.

the shifter will come with a neutral safety switch and reverse light switch.
the black box on the shifter gets ditched.
youll need to carefully cut and splice some wires to the shifter for your N/S and reverse lights.
