Would you buy a used 2800 vigilante converter

It's a gamble with any part especially if you can't see inside. I bought the same converter used and I have had it for 6 years with no problems. I've never had a tranny cooler either. Make sure its not coming out of a bad transmission and dump out the remaining tranny fluid when you get it to check for large metal shavings by running a magnet through. Make sure the fluid is red and not burnt. You could have it sent to Precision Industries and have them go through it if you can get the converter cheap enough to make it worth while. Shipping can't be cheap though.

I had a 2800 for about two months and got tired of it and shiped it to get restalled to a 3600!! but i wouldnt go larger than that with a vig..... I think its to loose but thats just me

I wouldn't unless you know it's history. Been running my brothers used VIG 3200 out of his car for a few years now with no problems. Vigs stall higher, but 2800 is still too small IMO.
