Exclamation those who went from M-6 to 4L60E

Yes, I saw the sticky. People do it. But, I want to know if there is any regrets to doing this. I dont want to be out a ton of money if I swap this, but I really think it would make my car better. And its cheaper to do up an auto. My 422rwhp is chewing up my manual and rear, so I need to do something fast. I am thinking of going with a CPT pro built tranny. Its only 1400 bucks. So, I want to know if there is any regrets.

I will be putting in a b and m pro stick shifter, as well as an aftermarket tranny cooler and deeper pan.

Also, what gears in the rear did you go with? I am thinking 373 in my new dana 60, but is that enough? will 4.10's be too much for a DAILY DRIVER above all else? I will go to the track too, but I wanna drive this every day and not loose my @ss at the gas station.

Thanks!
Cody

i dont know if this helps but i have a heads and cam six speed car that i love and you couldnt have gave me an auto. I know have another car that is a 408 auto i love the auto i think these cars the same either way if you can drive the six speed but it is cool to just stomp the gass and go. Get a good converter mine is a Yank 4000 and it rips i love it i dont think you will be disapointed.

HAHA very interesting! See, all I have heard was people bitching about their autos, and they want a stick. But, I cant hook for crap, the clutch is too damn expensive for the street twin by mcleod, and I have to build mine yet. Plus its hell at the track trying to be consistent, and it reaks havok on the rear end. I want the auto to slam me in my seat, and let the computer do the shifting. After all, computers are way more consistent than we are... Take out the human error, and you have one hell of a street machine.
Keep them comming guys and gals!

sweet bjamick! Above all, this car is daily driven, so I dont want to kill performance and such of the daily driver-ness of it. I can tolerate a little worse gas mileage, right now im gettin about 15 average, driving nice some days, driving like an ******* on the odd days. So, I figure the auto can only help me at this point, as I cant leave it in gear a little longer to hear my motor whine like I do now... stupid kids!

I know what you mean, I bought a Stage 4 Spec clutch with aluminum flywheel, pro 5.0 shifter with Speed SS, D&D built T56, Moser 12 with 4.30's
I really tried to make it work for me and the whole time I kept saying "I wish I hadn't switched" but I tought if I get the right parts behind it, it would change my mind. It never did, so I found I guy here in OKC that wants a 6-speed in his car and we are swapping. So its all personal choice on which one makes you happy, he is going to love the set up he is getting, I will like my new one as well.

wow, finally someone who is honest! I have had my car for three years, and I love the stick, its just that I have so much power now I really want an auto to get the torque multiplication on the low end, and better consistency, and no damn shifting costing my races! I mean I dont race ossifer... lol.
