S10 converter So i was told i can get a 4l60e torque converter out of an S10 and it a 2800 or 3000 stall i dont really remember... Has anyone done this before? it sounds sketchy but at the same time its a factory converter and it makes sense and is a lot cheaper. anyone know about this?
Never heard of the S10 thing, but you can use a factory converter out of a Trailblazer and it'll stall to ~2600-2800rpm. If you're going through the trouble of a converter install (which is no mundane task IMO) you might as well get a good one though. A stall that low won't be near the improvement of a 3000+ stall. My $.02.

I stand corrected on the s10. apparently its not that high. You have an LS1 and to benefit the power of my lt1 i need a stall in the 2800-3000 range. I think im going to have to hold off on the converter for now anyways because i am just now buying lower control arms relocation brackets and a panhard rod. I have someone who will install it for free by the way
I have heard of this...but The factory converter your looking for is out of a Cyclone or Typhoon. They have a beefier converter than stock S-10's. And I hear they have better bearings and that the whole unit is much stronger. I used one for three years in my LT1 powerd S-10 with no problems whatsoever.
I believe your looking for the CPI converter its looser because its smaller CID and would rev better than a TBI engine. Rumor has it that its the same convertor used in the corvettes. Designated by the 2nd letter being B in the convertor code.
