Yes, I believe they are under rated at 1200 hp.

I posted a similar post here https://ls1tech.com/forums/drag-racing-tech/643722-th400-gear-vendors.html . Seems like a few people not recomending them for drag racing but I came out with a more confused impression of why you wouldn't use one..

haha....tranny newb question here...but a 4l80 is the same thing as a th400 just with O/D..? correct? well im sick of my 4l60 what would i need to do to swap for the 4l80...cuz i know that the tranny mount under the car isnt going to bolt up.....'i just measured'.

Your new, so ill give you a little advice, its not very good edicate to "Hijack" a post like that, meaning straying away from the original posters question.
