t400 shifter options??
I recently bought a 98 Z28 that has a turbo 400 with reverse VB and the original owner had the stock shifter modded so that it could be used with the 400. It looks great, but I am thinking of going to an aftermarket shifter.
What are you guys using??
Pics would be great!!
Thanks!!
Dan
DanZ28 I have searched and found a few pics, but if you have any links I would love to see them b/c I may have missed them. If you get those pics of your shifter uploaded please let me know.
Thanks for the help guys!!!
I used the stock A4 shifter console (came out way cleaner than the M6 console I tried first) and cut a dam near perfect shape to fit around the shifter, it looks really clean, no holes or gaps. I also kept my ashtray and cup holder

That has to be one of the cleanest installs I have seen. How hard was it to trim the console to get it to fit???
Looks right at home in there!!!
It was actually kind of easy, took me about an hour to cut it then test fit, trim some more, etc. I was actually surprised it turned out so well but I did spend a fair amount of time mounting the shifter properly as well.

Any other things needed that were tricky/etc during the install?
Thanks
Andy
Nothing to tricky about the install other than finding a good place to run the cable out. I had to do a little cutting on the bigger section of the lower center console to fit around the shifter and cable. You can't see any of it but it had to be done in order for me to move the shifter back that far. The A4 console, as far as cutting the hole, I basically started out by measuring the base of the shiter then i used masking tape to mark the hole I wanted and got it close, then trimmed from there using my right angle air grinder/cutter with a sanding pad on it. I cut the hole in the console where I wanted it first, then I placed and mounted the shifter to fit the console correctly, worked perfect.

I've never operated a cheetah scs shifter. How does the 1-2-3 shift action work?
