Gears & Stall Ok, am I understanding this correctly? If you have shorter gears (3:73) is it wise to go higher on the stall? When you guys say "A Loose Converter" are you refering to someone who has taller (2:73 or 3:23) gears that it takes them more gas pedal to get the car moving? If this is correct then should I consider for my application (3:73 gears) a stall in the neighborhood of 3600? If so then will I still have a streetable car? In other words, a car that I can drive around town, to the golf course and to Church without turning 4000 rpms just to get moving? Or should I stick with a 3200? Thanks for the help!

It's not that you SHOULD get a higher stall converter, but with your lower gears it'll feel tighter than it would on a 2.73 car. With your gears, LT's, and mild cam, a 3600 should be about perfect.

For street driving you'll want a 2.1-2.2 STR, but if you drag race on drag radials or better tires occassionally, then opt for the 2.5 or higher (depend on how sticky your tires will be and how strong the drivetrain is). Vigilante has lock up converters, which can be single disc (OEM configuration) or multi (triple) disc units. In your case I would opt for a 3600 with 2.2 STR.

Would the 3200 Vig have the same STR of 2.2? I want to make sure that I still have a streetable car as I spend most of the time on the golf course rather than on the track. I have seen lots of guys on here using the 3200 and they say it actually stalls to 3600. Your thoughts? Hey, arent you the B&M guy? Hows that shifter coming? The final bugs are being worked out, you guys will love it. No problem on the stall selection assistance. 
I would recommend it the other way around. Higher STR for street driving to help you get around without having to rev to the moon, and lower STR for a track car that you want to launch hard with no traction worries and pull a little harder up top. Basically tighter for the street, looser for the track.
