Default Broken Tranny Mount...

Hey all, I was having my true duals put in tonight when my mechanic noticed that the tranny mount was torn in half. I was wondering why when I would nail it I would hear a thump under the car (torque arm hitting body?) So I told them to order me a poly tranny mount. Only question is I have poly motor mounts and hear that some times you can crack the bell housing for the tranny if you use a poly tranny mount with poly motor mounts. Is this true or is there anything I can use instead of a poly tranny mount? Thanks and help would be great.

"Dont" as in dont use a poly tranny mount with poly motor mounts? If so what other kind can I use? I need to fix the torn OEM tranny mount, since it cant be doing the tranny and my torque arm any good.

There is nothing wrong with using both poly motor and transmission mounts.

you confused poly mounts with solid mounts. you arent supposed to use a solid motormount with a solid trans mout cuz theres no where to flex. both poly mounts is fine

I would go with a stock rubber mount. Put a urethane one in my lt1 formula when the stocker ripped and it made the car feell like a POS. Lots of noise and vibration throughout the whole car. Went back and got a stock rubber one. If its a high HP race car go urethane If not stick to the rubber. BTW im not some pssy who hates noise -- I run longtubes ORY with an open borla as a DD 100miles a day.

friend replaced his trans mount with a poly... it broke the transmission tail shaft clean off the car.

use poly transmission mount with a poly motor mount, dont mix.
