Default M6 to 700R4

I am about to trade a M6 for a 700R4 and i was wondering if anyone knew of a place to get a cross member for one of those conversions, and if so please let me know.

Thanks

George

Damn the guy who's getting the M6 is getting one hell of a deal.
You need an A4 crossmember for your car, the 4L60E and 700R4 have the same external dimensions. The crossmember will have AUTO stamped on it.

an the fact that the 700r4 is just as weak if not weaker than the 4l60e. You're getting taken on that deal.

I've gone through at least 10 700r4's with every hardend part you can put in them. Motor had close to 500.

you are getting hosed man.

700R4s just arent up to hp, no matter what you do to them. dont trade.

i belive that it is the 200R4 that is a better trans? is that correct? the OD transmission all the buick guys use in their GNs..

Yup, the 200r4 (that came in the GN's) will stand up to a ton more abuse. You're sure getting the short end of the stick trading a t56 for a 700r4....you're trading in a "parts breaker" for what the French call a certain "I don't know what".

I've had a built 700r4 like that for a long time behind about 390-410 for a couple years. If you keep it cool it can handle that. Get a manule valve body and a big stall and all of a sudden you have a death car that can street with a 4400 stall.

Auto crossmember will work, might need to be massaged a little at the hole, depends how everything lines up.

Don't forget to get a speedo with it.

The 200 is actually weaker.. but is more performance oriented (out of the box, stock for stock, the 200 is better, but Im talking once these are being built). The 200, 700 and 4l60 are basically the same with similar upgraded parts available. If you doubt my statement call Carl at Rossler, he might spend 20 minutes explaining it to you, like he did me.

Hmmm....didn't know that. Did he tell you what the differences were? If those three are basically the same, and the upgraded parts are similar, then what makes one stronger than the other? Just curious....
