Thsi is true about when taking your transmission to a shop , generally they price based on a standard built excluding hard parts , so though they may quote you 1200 1500 2000 whatever they will charge extra for those parts beyond the quoted price

I'm running the FLT 4L65e level 5 in my 5300lb truck pushing close to 500hp at the rear wheels for a few thousand miles now, and loving it!

FLT Level 5, 4L65E

If I can beat on a 6000lb, cammed, Supercharged, 6.0L, Tahoe... then I think you guys with 3000lb cars will have no issues.

FLT/FLP built my Level IV 4l60E.

If it breaks, Level V 4l65E will be next.

I'm undecided. I'm prolly gonna get my trans fully built next year before i start laying serious power. I'll probably just go ahead and pay for the top level build from whichever builder I choose, cause I wanna go 400+ rwhp in the future. I'm thinking of 3 choices: either FLT, CPT, or performabuilt. I've heard good things about the first two. I haven't really heard any opinions on performabuilt, but from the looks of their site, they build some pretty impressive transmissions.

Rodney at RPM does all of ours. RPM also builds a lot of trannies for companies that use their own name on the tranny, you would be surprised!

When dealing with high performance, products are going to get abused, meaning breakage can and does occur. I've seen very few companies back their products as well as Rodney does, he won't let you down. Bob

GEARSTAR has all of the transmissions in stock and they are DYNO tested with the converter.
they can ship within 24 hours or the same day as order if needed!!!

also ask them about the GP they are putting on with some killer prices on the trans and converter combo

Plano Transmissions. Great shop and I will refer people to them from here on out. They were great and had my tranny pulled/rebuilt/re-installed in 4 days.

If it helps i have a CPT, solid trans that shifts very nice, daily driven, drive to the track run 11.60's stock internal drive it back home and have no probs, and if i happen to have a prob with it, it has a WARRANTY on the trans...just some food for thought
