Default Who would you pick to build your 4L60-e?

Just a thread to see where everyone stands, personal experiences, feedback and reasoning. My cars going to be seeing some pwoer here and will need to do something with the stock 4l60-e so i'm weighing my options. I've read/seen a lot of 4l60-e builds fail and its an aweful experience to pay big bucks to get a trans rebuilt and have it puke like stock. However the catch is for the good rebuild companies, building these trannies costs over 2k which in my mind is a little much. lets hear your opinions and who you would go with.

cahallperformancetransmissions.com... frank is a good guy he pm's me all the time, we talk about the tranny...hes always willing to help...and the cheapest/strongest sub 10 second 4l60-e in the country, btw i daily drive mine and it shifts firm, it puts more of the power i had to the ground and helped my times....with a 3200 stall i just went 7.20 on a 75 shot, and 1.54 60'
i also have about 10k on mine...mostly street duty stop and go back and forth to work, and about 50+ street races...at least 500 street wot runs....and about 15 track passes, and ive done well over 130 with it, frank also says that a his 4l60-e is as strong as a built th350
pm me for more

i called rock on and they said i need a level 4, and it would be 1895 if i pulled it myself...so i didnt call back...i could get a built 400 and gear vendors overdirve..
frank charges 1000 for his race and 1400 for his pro race...thats why hes number one....

CPT Trans.........great guy, quality work, and warranties his work. Mine has seen many many 1.5 60ft passes in the mid to upper 11 second range and still shifts nice and firm.

FLT/FLP. I wouldn't even consider anyone else at this point. I've tried others, and wasn't happy.

I just put a level 5 65E in my truck from FLT and I wont own another built tranny from anyone else Their willingness to help out and customer service has never been matched by any of my experiences with other builders....

Rock-On builds a decent tranny... but its DECENT... I dont want to put decent work into my street/strip vehicle... I wanna beat on it all day, then load up and drive it home with no worries... you wont have any with FLT...

Not that my opinion matters, but had I done it again I would of gone with a FLT. I was stuck between them and Rock-On about 4-5 months ago. After having my 2nd tranny installed after only pushing 350rwhp on it, I know I picked the wrong company. Not too mention so many other things ie (customer service, time frame on delivery, customer service, customer service)

Any good shops close to mississippi? I don't know how feasable it would be to ship my tranny across the country for a build.

Just keep in mind that $1,500.00 - $2,500.00 will only get you the rebuild, if your tranny is broke it will cost more to fix that broken part. Tranny shops refer to those parts as "hard parts." So, if you break your tranny and send it into the tranny shop, you couls very well pay much more then $2,500.00. Just thought I would let you know about this, I got surprised more then three times..

I paid $1850 for a race transmission...That's with everything included, minus converter, Plus they get my blown up one....and a 2 year 24k warranty..I went with the "Other" Toy Shop in Pomona California
