doesnt really matter. youll be leaving the trans fluid in much longer than you will be the engine oil. My trans builder said put whatever fluid in as long as its Dexron Mercon III and NOT SYNTHETIC

I use Valvoline DexIII. NO synthetic in my 4L60Es..... That was the advice given to me years ago by the trans guys at FLP (now FLT).

Heh, I'm cheap, I put in the Advance Auto brand. (It's made by Valvoline)

I don't keep it in there long enough to worry about it. In fact, it's time to change it now.

I only put about 5000 miles on it before a change, and I change the filter every other time.

Cheap Insurance, IMO.

I put some generic trans fluid in that was made by the same company as Valvoline. Works fine, and I drive hard.

Yep, I also use the store brand. It is made by a major brand and it doesn't carry the expensive price. Just don't use synthetic.

I believe it it AAMCO or something like that. I had never heard of it, but when I bought my shift kit from Pro Built Automatics I asked him what was a good brand to use and that was one of his suggestions.
