Yes it helps from a roll. For example, usually in an A4 40mph is a dead spot. You drop into 2nd gear but the rpms are to low. But because I have a stall, when I floor it at 40mph I drop into to second and the rpms flash up to about 3100 where I really begin to make power, instead of aroud 2300 where it would be with the stock converter.

My friend has a cammed z28 and I am only bolt-ons but I get a good jump on him everytime we race from any mph b/c he is retarded and hasn't put a stall in yet.

Definitely. Anytime you're on the highway and hit the gas pedal the car will pick up immediately. If your doing 40 or above and you floor it the car will take off faster and harder than it ever did with the stock converter assuming you got the proper stall. My car is a lot quicker and way more fun to drive now bith on the highway and around town.

A converter will make some difference for sure, but how much difference depends on which stall you use. Ls1's are kinda doggy in the bottom end, so you want to get it up there where it can make some power. Which converter is the best for you would all depend on your setup. With a basically stock setup, 3200-3400 is plenty. Which str you want is really up to you... the higher you get, the harder it hits. A lower str will hit softer, and will work great with nitrous. But not all converters are universal, even at the same size and str, they will NOT be exactly the same. Some of them tend to flash lower than what they are advertised at, so you should definitely do some research on different companies before you buy one.
I could probably type for 2 days on which one is the best, but it's really a matter of goal and price.

That 3200 is not doing you justice with a TRex. I wouldn't go any lower than a 4200, 4400 or higher is all the better though. Of course, 4400 and above is JMO, but I know that Thunder says you should use atleast a 4000 or 4200.
