2 is more than enough to hold the tranny, IMO.
you could always buy an aftermarket one or leave it in the stock location and weld a plate/brace to it.

Just what I needed to know

Total for me: $ 5350 and this didn't even include shipping prices for the trans and TC.

Obviously, there are cheaper routes to take, i just wanted what i thought to be the best, and was going to handle 800 rwhp when I get there. Just wanted to throw my setup in here for those that want to consider doing something similar in quality parts.

P.S. I already had a TQ arm, but the price of one should be factered in if you don't have one.

nothing against your post, but the totals ususally scare people away from the conversion.
you can get a yank, ati or a vigilante converter for 700-900 and save some bucks there, and im sure that tranny has all the bells and whistles for that price.
you can get a very well built 400 from ati tci or ptc for around 1000-1300 without a transbrake if its not needed.
so you can really save 2 grand on the setup if you were on a budget.

my trans alone from ATI was around 1700 with a trans brake. my total bill from my trans shop was 2719 that was with a ATI treemaster MRT converter $800 trans cooler $150 and a case of synth racing fluid $90 he put an Alu pan on there to that was an added 90 bucks that I have in the cost of the trans.

not sure if you are pro or con from the quoted post, but it does show their are less exensive routes.

My intent was definately not to scare anyone off, so hopefully people will read it as I intended it . This setup is obviously geared more towards racing and higher HP setups using, IMO, very good quality parts to do so. Honestly, there was a couple well know builders that wanted $5K for the TH400 alone, but much more than I needed and my budget could handle. So I posted it for those peeps leaning towards the slightly higher end and not the budget build up direction. Most decent built TH400's will hold up to what most head/cam/small nitrous shots can throw at it anyway. After plopping out serious $$ on a built 4l60e/TC and have it blow on me I decided to over build this setup knowing I will be adding another 300-400 RWHP within the next year. Do it once, do it right for my goals, and save in the long run.

A rossler TH400 with MVB and T brake is 1300 thats hard to beat vs a well built 4l60.
