That however he found it, sounds cheap, too cheap that I wouldnt put on my car IMO but who knows right, just check before you buy. Im after transmission and a 4000 torque converter too. Good luck

my trans and converter alone were 2500, ATI race preped TH400 reverse manual body with trans brake, ATI tree master MRT converter, your going to need a crossmember shifter, drive shaft, get the computer tuned. good stuff dont come cheap

I'd say shop around for some used trannys and what not. I recently picked up a race ready powerglide with the transbrake and everything with 5500 coan (?) converter for $350 .

The converter will engage a lockup clutch thus stopping all slippage in the drivetrain typically 40mph or so in 3rd depending on your setup. RPMS will hold and the car will feel tight and have positive input when you hit the gas, vs when it's unlocked will slip and the rpms will jump.
If you gonna drive 90% on the street I recommend lockup as the slipping all the time will generate a buttload of heat on a good size converter. Plus mileage is drastically better when locked.
A TH400 might not be for you, what are your plans w/ the car? The 4l60E can be built to take a pretty good deal of abuse, more so than what some people think. A lot is in the tune on keeping those alive.
If you gonna stay under 500rwhp or so, the 4L60E might be a better option since your gonna drive the car on the street so much. Plenty of 10 second cars with that tranny if done right.

2 is more than enough to hold the tranny, IMO.
you could always buy an aftermarket one or leave it in the stock location and weld a plate/brace to it.

Rossler TH400 - $2500
Neal Chance 4800 Stall - $1300
Yank Cross member - $ 250
Cheetah Shifter - $ 260
Earl's tranny cooler - $ 180
Steel braided lines, fittings and QD's - $ 175
Custom Drive Shaft - $ 300
TCI Flexplate - $ 200
Autometer Trans Temp guage - $80
B&M trick shift fluid - $ 40
ARP flexplate bolts - $ 25
Misc. nuts/bolts, tubing/sheetmetal for shifter install and to cover the hole in the tunnel from the M6 - $ 40
Total for me: $ 5350 and this didn't even include shipping prices for the trans and TC.
Obviously, there are cheaper routes to take, i just wanted what i thought to be the best, and was going to handle 800 rwhp when I get there. Just wanted to throw my setup in here for those that want to consider doing something similar in quality parts.
P.S. I already had a TQ arm, but the price of one should be factered in if you don't have one.
