you know if this is your "daily driver" then go for a 3800-4000. I really dont care about this "driveability" nonsince. Really I dont. I riden in a PT 4000 car, and it is great, drove a TCI preped Yank 4400 converter and loved it so much thats what I got for my car. Its really all in what you want. I'v heard people say its like trying to "drive threw mud" and all this. But again, I really dont care about any of that. Ill drive it and drive it because the bitch flat out will run. People say bigger isnt always better, eh....what ever, do what you want. Good luck

Vig 3400 Multidisc 3plate in mine (9.5") works great in my almost 5k lbs brick, something like that in your Fbody? you wouldn't even know it HAD a stall.. mine moves out great at lesst than 2k RPM, very efficient..
PS, I had 2 Vigs, both Stalled EXACTLY where they were supposed to, one a 10.5" 2800 & this one..

A quite exhaust makes a high stall much more acceptable as a daily driver. If you have a quiet exhaust and covered up your tach so that you did not see or hear the difference, you would only notice a small difference in feel with most torque converters.
Personnally I like a 3000 stall better than stock in town just to get the rpms up a bit. Over 3500, I think you do feel some downsides, but a YPT 4000 is fun from a roll.

Ive got a TCI 3500 in my car and I love it. I travel 40 highway miles a day back and forth to work without any issues. As far as track times...I dropped almost a full second off my times with this converter.

today matt and crew just hooked me up with a 3600 vig . what a difference from my shitty MW TC. that thing really sucked and was slowing me down.
car feels so much better.

Unless you're going to the the track alot I wouldn't even bother with putting a TC in an A4. I've got a 4400 Vig in my T/A so your gas mileage is definitely going to suffer with putting one in. I went from 300 ish mpt to 280 ish when I put the TC in. It is fun though lol

Isn't it a pain in the *** to possess nitrous in NJ though? Also illegal to have it on in your car? I heard that you can't be in tunnels with it either. Or not supposed to be not sure if it is actually enforced.
Just asking if it was true sry for hijacking.

I'm actually from Joliet, IL (just south of Chicago). After 14 years with the same computer company they shut thier doors so I ended up taking a job offer out here in Rochester, NY two years ago. I live in Brighton now which I'm sure you know is not far at all from pittsford.
Good luck.
