Along with a tranny cooler, is a shift kit necessary for a 3200 stall?

If your tranny has some miles on it, you may want to consider a rebuild. I threw a converter and shift kit in mine, I already had a cooler. It lasted one day, clutch packs went out. That turned out to be a costly chance I took.

Hmm... Lets see what Yank has to say about shift kits on their website, and BTW, Vigilante says the same thing.

10. Yank Performance Converters can achieve maximum performance and efficiency without the use of shift kits. Shift kits dramatically raise transmission line pressure to increase shift firmness. Increased shift firmness will not increase performance, but create unnecessary stress on the transmission and other drive-line components. .

Well, what do You mean awesome from a stop? hahah. I got the same one and this thing slips like hell. Takes good 5-6 secs at about 3000 rpm to get it to 40mph. It's amazing to launch the car or race from roll up to 40mph. As far as DD it, forget it. It's a pain in the traffic. I don't drive that thing too much.

Well believe what you Want ,But my Tranny isn't a stock pos and My Builder Strongly Recommends a Shift kit.Converter Guys are NOT Trannys Guys.BTW It's Not Vigilante it is Precision Industries.Oh Yeah I almost forgot I am putting over 500 Mustang Dyno rwhp thru my 4l60e and guess what my trans is in tip top shape and I have a Shift Kit ,But wait I did blow up my yank SS4000e verter

you would be suprised at the people that dont know that....

and these internet magasine racers kill me cough burnzilla cough......im pretty sure his car is nere stock and has no aftermarkwt stall...

any one that spends upwards of 5oo on a stall and doesnt touch the tranny or atleast add a cooler is wasting money IMO....ive got a tci 30kgvr cooler and i use an hpp3 to increase line pressure.....

Yes adding and 800 dollar plus stall to a stock trans is like stepping backwards sure you will hav fun a little bit with the converter then you will end up buying it again plus a trans, Thats why I promote buying them at the same time
