TC Questions.
Hey guys, I have an A4 in my 96 TA and have been tossing the stall idea around lately. I don't have a ton of money but want a good tc and have been looking at yank, vig, or the new tci, somewhere 3200-3600 bc i want to do some more mods down the road. My question is what would you do and how much do you think it would cost to have it installed at a shop.
Thanks,
Mike
Thanks,
Mike

Thanks for the quick replies, I just want to go big enough now so I dont regret it later.
$200 for the install, thats better than what I thought. Anyone else?

If you have a garage, basic tools, and a tranny jack you can do it yourself. There is a good writeup on here. Just do a search and you should be able to find it. Also I would recommend a 3600 stall for a daily driver. Maybe a 4000 stall for a weekend cruiser. I have a 3400 2.1 Fuddle that I love. I dropped almost a full second off of my 1/4 mile with the TC and drag radials. It really helped the crappy 2.73 gear launches.

He's got an LT1, not LS1. A 3200 is as high as he should go unless he's got a nasty built motor. Here's a link to the converter install guide:
