Why Should You Not Use Synthetic Fluid In A 4L60E?
#81
dumping what's in the pan, refill with new then pumping a quart or 2 out the cooler the line, refilling and repeating this process until the fluid looks clean has worked well for me. i have done it on high milage units with no ill effect and will continue to do so until something fails. usually looking at what's in the bottom of the pan will determine if a flush is worth it or a waste of time.

When I was at GM still...
I designed a Flush Machine that I actually liked...
I never got to make one (GM likes their $$$ to much for unsanctioned Experiments).
I also campaigned for a new Service that would include a complete Flush... and a Filter Service.
But it was time consuming and expensive.
Steps:
-1 Remove oil pan, and filter, dump fluid... dispose of consumables.
-2 Install high flow screened Pick-up (no Filter) with a Plastic Oil Pan that has multiple drain Bolts.
-3 Perform Flush.
-4 Drain Fluid from Plastic Oil Pan using drain Bolts in to a CLEAN Jug.
-5 Remove Plastic Oil Pan and high flow screened Pick-up.
-6 Install new Filter.
-7 Install original Oil Pan with New Gasket.
-8 Set ATF level with the drained CLEAN ATF in the Clean Jug.

The filter needs to be changed
Doing a "flush" and just fluid exchange is a half-assed way to go about things
Flush it first, then drain it all, change the filter, put a new filter and clean fluid in
I hate it when people I know go get a "flush"

O Hi, your car needs an ATF Flush.
O okay I will do it.
Your Flush is now done.
But what do I do with the dirty nasty Filter that is in my Transmission.
O! That just stays there... all the nice clean ATF that you purchased will go through it...
eventually making it all nasty again...
and bringing you right back here!

I know this is a GM automatic transmission forum, but some automakers (Honda) have an internal filter that cannot be changed unless you split the case. they do not have a "pan" like traditional units.
...but yes I like to drop the pan to determine if a flush is worth doing and change the filter at that time if applicable.

Yes because the Vehicle was built to be a One Owner Automobile.

This is very true with the 6L80/90s. I sell 3 a week. Al right at the 100k mark. Some less than that because new GMs are 3yr/80, 60k mile powertrain now. But the problem is the tuning of the TCC. But that's another subject.
BTW, a trans filter can withstand alot of dirt and debris vs an engine filter.
But the idea of a flush isn't to flush some 150k mile, dirty, nasty, worn out trans. It's to maintain fresh fluid at regular service intervals. Pretty much like your engine.

drained my 17 Nox at 60k,,,,it was BLACK,,,added 3qts dexVI started ,idle, rev, drive Then drained again,,added more new VI till it weaped out ,,,shifts way better now..Should do every 30k
The shift quality falls of so slow people dont notice, i think dexVI good for 3-40k,,,ATF+4 ,,,4-50k miles if all is good and NO over heating
