Default Is this a bad idea.....

My car just hit 100,000 miles, I bought it from a single female owner with all service records from all gm sights. I added my mods below which includes a B&M Shift Improver at 87,000. Fluids where changed at recommemded intervals. Would a stall hurt my car? If not what size/brand would you recommend for a DD. Future mods include longtubes, ls6 intake, mild cam like an ls6 or Cheatr and a tune. Any ideas?

Well in and of itself a stall wont hurt , but bear in mind that the performance mods you are planning on will put great strain on the trans,
Personally if its in the buget I would get a converter/trans combo so that this will be at least one thing you wont have to worry about

If the car has mostly highway miles than a good converter is not a bad idea but if it was an intown stop and go car the trans will have a shorter life ahead of it.
a cooler will be needed also and go with a good brand of converter an keep the true stall speed under 3600

I put a Pro Torque 2800 stall in my car at 150,000 miles with a trans cooler. I did this at the same time my motor was rebuilt, cam, decked heads, LT's, etc. It is now at 172,000 miles and the tranny is slipping. I got 22,000 miles out of it with the mods including the stall. It is a real 50 mile a day DD. I can still drive it as it shifts ok through third gear but it has trouble holding fourth. I am replacing the tranny and going with a Yank SS3600. Hope that sheds a little light on the subject.

I think you'll live longer with a moderate stall speed
and a lower STR. Stacking up motor torque and more
torque multiplication is a double whammy.

In my opinion the trans tune wants going through
ASAP. GM set the base and shift pressures for the
stock setup and there can easily be a shortage
of holding power. Slip kills the frictions. Shock
kills the hard parts. Where's the factory tradeoff
have you? Nowhere good, you can bet. You can't
be slipping in gear and live long at all. You want to
slip just a hair while shifting, get it done quick but
not hammer the driveline. You would be well off
to take a compromise approach to torque mgmt
(not delete) if you go to tuning. Otherwise the
trans had better be ready for a free-for-all, that
includes eye gouging and repeated kicks to the
groin.

I spoke with the previous oner and she informed me the miles where 75-80% highway miles. If i go with a low stall let's say 2800 to 3200 would i be ok?

make sure to get a cooler on that Torque Converter, and stay away from TCI. You get what you pay for. Go with Vig or Yank.
