5mph? From a 100% healthy fuddle to 100% healthy yank--That is a little hard to believe....especially in the 1/8.

Were they both the same stall speed?

Performabuilt, You guys seem to know your $hit. Yank has been around for a long time and makes some of ther top of the line converters, billit hubs, kevlar clutches, etc... Their SS and PT series is top notch with some of the leading technology in converter design being used in them.

How do your converters compare? I'm not trying to call you out, I'm just interested in your offerings. I have a TCI SSF3500 and it's OK. I would hope your converters are better than the TCI SSF, and better than Fuddle and hopefully comparable to companies like Yank, Vig, and Coan.

Do you custom build converters? I noticed your converters on your website for the 4L60E hover around the $600 price range which I'd consider a great price if it can perform the same as say a Yank. Can you tell us about your convertes a little and what makes them a good alternative to those that have already proven themselves?

BTW I have intentions of possibly buying a transmission from you folks come next spring/summer, but I was curious about your converters and the quality behind them.

You don't have to believe me. But it is what it is. Of course 1-2 mph could be due to weather conditions since the run with the fuddle was made in September and the one with the Yank was last weekend. And the convertor swap was the ONLY change.

And one thing is for sure, the Yank feels waaaaay stronger than that fuddle pos.

A 100% healthy fuddle? Somehow those words don't fit in the same sentence..

And to answer your question, the fuddle was a 3600 and the yank is a 4000.

More MPH in December than September shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone. 5 mph difference on different days isn't unheard of with big temp differences. Timeslips?

A 4000 feeling "stronger" than a 3600 isn't either.

Personally, my friends ss4000 doesn't feel anybetter than my fuddle3600, and I outperform him with similar mods.

So, let me get this straight.....a 5 mph difference in 1/8th mile mph is hard to believe with a switch of convertors vs 5 mph difference just in change of weather (same track)?? LOL, I'm off this thread before my IQ declines any further...

Another vote for the yank converter. Wouldn't change mine for anything!

because your friends doesnt know how to drive or there is something wrong with his car...i will match my yank ss3600 to your fuddle...i have yet to see a fuddle perform better than my yank for my mods...same stall speed and str....YANK > Fuddle....bottom line

TCI www.tciauto.com , They have been around since the beginning of time. Im a big fan of them personally. They built us a pretty nasty 6600 stall.
