Swapped Vigilante 4200 Converter to an Edge Converter, picked up .2 tenths and 3mph
Have had a Vigilante 9.5" 4200 $6xx converter in my car for about 100 passes...car ran 6.3x's N/A in the 1/8th pretty consistantly over the last year. I had some concern after dynoing the car and feeling like it should make more power to the tire etc...
Well I started thinking about changing the converter because the car was only 60 fting in the 1.5's (540 BBC 900hp N/A setup in 71 chevelle).
I got ahold of Edge converters after having a few friends with good results..got one of thier Pro Edge setups for just over $6xx...swapped it in and made it out to Irwindale 1/8th mile dragstrip, Car picked up and went 6.17! and 60 fted 1.37! I am soooo stoked..finally the car is running near my goal where I want to be....few more changes and i should be there.

Just wondering, as I have a Vigi 3200 that I plan to restall to ~4000 here pretty soon.
What were the condition differences between your times w/ the Vigi and the Edge. I'm curious now too as I'm trying to go max effort here and I want to get every single ounce I can out of my car. If I were to make the change I wouldn't want to do it for no reason.

Congrats! I had a VIG3800 in my car and ran 11.50's @ 118. I switched to a TCI4400 and dropped to 11.30's @ 120. The wierd thing is the TCI felt a LOT tighter than the VIG. Javier, my VIG was originally a 3200 and I had it restalled to 3800 -it made almost no difference in E.T. I went from a best of 11.55 to 11.52. If you have it restalled to 4000 it's probably gonna feel really loose.

mine's a Daily Driver and I've already had and seen what other verter companies produce, lack of reliability reason I went with the vig, mine's putting down some very decent 60's for a 5k lbs mostly Stock vehicle.. think your verter was "jacked" up to start with... Good Luck

It is possible, I've actually had good luck with Vig 3200 and 3600 converters in other cars in the past...its just one of those things, sometimes a converter is just wrong for the application. The Edge was built for exactly my combo so probably performed better for that reason.
