tranny question, need answers please
Ok well for the past week or so my car has been staying in 1st gear too long. it doesnt bang inot 2nd either. every other shift point is perfect. my fluid couldnt be better, and im not throwing any codes. so i brought it to aamco and the basically did a free diagnostics, where they found out all the stuff i told them (visual inspection, fluid test, road test etc) they told me my only option is to get my tranny rebuilt for $1400. i do not have that type of money right now, and im sure i could prob find a cheaper price. does anyone kno if i NEED to get it rebuilt?

aamco is a joke to begin with. And $1,400 for a rebuild is laughable. The best parts available for the 4L60E to rebuild it from front to back cost a tad over $400, if all the hard parts are OK. I know this because mine was just rebuilt by a 4L60E guru in Lauderdale with all the best stuff. Labor was a few hundred.
Its badass.
If you don't have a good 4L60E shop I'd take it to the dealer to get diagnosed at least. aamco won't fix anything that'll last. I don't see why you need a whole rebuild either. I only learned serious basics while mine was apart and getting rebuilt, I watched and helped with everything. Sounds like you might just need new clutches for first and pressure is being lost going into second, might be the same part(s) that are causing it.
