MRVEDIT
I thought it was an interesting article nevertheless.
I am getting ready to tear my 4L60E down for my 95 Jimmy for the 3-4 worn clutch problem ASAP. It sat up for 3 years. I drove it for about 10,000 miles before it started to slip. It has 100k, so its time to refresh the entire unit. I only paid 100 for the truck and its in great condition. so its worth the money to rebuild and upgrade.

Have a question. I have 3- 4l60e trannys that I have rebuilt. And I aleways have the same problem develop afterwards.
At first, and for the first 4-6 weeks, they run fine. No problems. After week 6, they start developing a pressure problem. In the beginning, it takes a half second for the pressure to build up and engage first gear. Or reverse. This problem keeps getting worse over time, until about week 20, it takes a couple of seconds at 1100rpm for the pressure to engage first or reverse gear. Shortly after (about 4 months after rebuild), it leads to total failure of the transmission.

Any insight would help.
