time to change the fluid and filter in my A4. is there any type of high performance auto trans filters? also the capacity of the autos are 5.0 quarts right?

The total capacity is WELL above 5 quarts. But that won't concern you unless you're going to be using a flush machine that sucks all the fliud out. If your plans are just to drop the pan and change the fliter + re-fill trans, 4-5 quarts should do it. Maybe more if you've got a really deep trans pan.
Personally, I don't know of any "high performance" trans filters. I just use a new Delco filter.

thats what i thought well a shift kit is going to be installed other than that thats it besides a filter so how much do you think i'd be safe on buying?
A dry 4L60E with a stock c0onverter takes 12.5 quarts . but in your case the total will vary according to how long the pan is down

Well I would start by adding 5 then start and check and ad till full on the stick

Just depends on how long it takes to do the shift kit , generally the converter will slowly drain the entire time

whats it mean when ur a quart low on trans fluid cause ur dipstick tube grommet is leaking and you can't even pour a quart down the tube without it comin back out the top???? 5 quarts should do it, i always buy 6 just incase
