Default New tranny = messed up shift points...

My girlfriend had a new 4L60E built by rpm, installed in her 02 Z/28. Once installed and with no other changes she now hits the rev limiter on the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts.

Her old tranny was a bone stock 60' with a TCI 4400 stall with tq management deleted/turned off, tranny cooler and the rev limniter set at 6800. 3.73 gears, 26 inch tall tire.

New tranny is a RPM level 4 with a Vig 2800 stall and the rest of the stuff from above.

We took it back to get the shift points dialed in and we were able to get the 1-2 shift to where it wouldn't hit the limiter but the 2-3 we could not.

The final settings we tried were, rpm: 6000 shift....mph: 76... and it was still hitting a 6800 limiter. We gave up for the day and went home...anyone have any ideas on whats happening?

when a new tranny is installed you have to go into the PCM and reset the shift adapts.

I would try resetting the adaptive though it should be able to do it on its own after a short time. However there could actually be something wrong with the Trans causing the issue , When the trans does shift into 3rd how does that shift feel is it solid ?

not sure but how many miles on it ?
I would wait till you get atleast 500miles before really getting on it and then see where it shifts at.

My Girlfriend took the car back in, to the tuner, to try again with the shift points to no avail. She said they got as low as 48 mph and 5k rpms and it still would not shift. There are no codes and the trans shifts fine under part throttle conditions. Any more ideas? The car prolly has about 1k miles on it since install.

I believe you can change it out by removing the pan. Thats all I know about it.
