Usually 3000 to 3500 is what most use. As far as catch, the stall will lock depending on how much you have you have your foot in it.

I trans cooler is a must when you have a stall, they build up more heat from them spinning.

I have a Yank SS3400 on my sumemr daily driver and it is great. It is a little looser than stock, but not much. It accelerates fine by 2000, and quick at 2400. My car still gets 18-19 mpg with 3.42's too.

Default Stock Tranny?

Will a stock 4l60e handle a stahl with no real modifications other than cooler?? How long do most transmissions hold under normal driving conditions?
