Default ove rstalling/undercamming?

obviously its not good to under stall a large cam like a trex or ms3, but what about the opposite? what if you were to go with a hotcam or tr224 wit ha 4000 stall converter? any negatives?

I know one of the members (can't remember screen name) runs a 3600 stall with an ASA cam. That's pretty small and similar to the hotcam. I know it's not a 4000, but close. He says it's a great combo and certainly one of the best sounding IMO. He's got TD's with 1-chamber flows. That 110 LSA makes for one nasty idle. I can't think of any negatives though. It'll be interesting to read some other feedback.

Stock cam here with a Vig 3600 and 2.73's.. the car flashes at 4000 on sticky tires and hauls. There are many members that run 4000 stalls and higher on stock cams because they do plan on caming it later. I guess if you had a 6000 stall on a stock cam it would too much though.. lol.

Considering you are "just" getting into overstall territory (IMO) in the 4000-4200 range (shift extension is extremely high after upshifts) with the stock cam, I really doubt you would be with just about any aftermarket cam that is going to move the powerband up.

I have a TR 220/220 .551 .551 114 LSA. I just had a Yank SS3600 installed in a new tranny. The performance is VERY impressive. Can't wait to break the tranny in so I can really see what the car is capable of. I also have 3:73 gears though.
